RENAISSANCE DHAKA GULSHAN HOTEL/DHAKA, BANGLADESH(How to travel Dhaka in 2024)
I'm thrilled to announce that I'm fulfilling a longstanding aspiration by visiting Bangladesh for the first time. It's been on my bucket list for ages, and I'm ecstatic to finally make it happen.
I spent one night at the Renaissance Dhaka Gulshan Hotel, with the rate being 287.25 USD or 31,529.55 BDT per night. I've heard that hotel fees in Dhaka tend to be slightly higher compared to hotels of the same brand in other countries. Honestly, it was a bit pricier than I had anticipated for my budget, but I still enjoyed my stay there.

The Renaissance Dhaka Gulshan Hotel, established in 2019, boasts a contemporary ambiance with clean and well-maintained facilities. Unlike other Renaissance hotels I've visited, which tend to feature older amenities and designs that don't particularly captivate me, I found this newer establishment in Dhaka to be a refreshing departure.
The bed was both comfortable and generously sized, providing a restful night's sleep. I particularly appreciated the presence of a spacious business desk in the room, as it offered ample room to work comfortably. Unlike rounded tables, which I find impractical for work purposes due to the limited space for gadgets and laptops, the wide rectangular design of this table was ideal for my needs.
The coffee station is pleasant, though it doesn't offer anything particularly noteworthy. Additionally, the room features a mini refrigerator and a security box, which are convenient amenities. The closet is decently sized and spacious, providing ample storage for belongings.
I found the bathroom at the Renaissance Dhaka Gulshan Hotel to be exceptionally clean and well-organized. The amenities provided were decent and quite useful, especially for someone like myself. While there was no bathtub available, which might be a drawback for those who prefer it, I particularly appreciated the luxurious touch of the rainfall shower head in the shower room. The marble design of the bathroom exuded a stylish and luxurious ambiance, adding to the overall comfort of the stay.
Overall, my stay at the Renaissance Dhaka Gulshan Hotel was enjoyable. The location in this area is fantastic, with many upscale cafes and restaurants nearby. I also found Bangladesh to be one of the safest countries in the world, especially in this area. However, due to the weakness of my currency against the USD at the time of my visit, the cost of staying was unexpectedly high. It's worth mentioning that I booked the hotel through the Marriott Bonvoy official site, where they provide an approximate price during booking. Unfortunately, I was charged 50 USD more than the initially quoted price upon pre-booking, as the hotel converted USD to BDT at their own rate, which tends to be higher. I understand that each hotel has its own rates and taxes, which were particularly high in Bangladesh. While this discrepancy was a significant downside, I still enjoyed my stay at the hotel. However, considering the high cost of 290 USD per night, I'm unsure if it was worth it in retrospect.
