Courtyard by Marriott Bangkok/Thailand/How to taravel Thai in 2024
I stayed at Courtyard Marriott Bangkok for 9,700 THB ( 275 USD ) for 2 nights. The Courtyard by Marriott Bangkok opened in 2007. In 2022, the hotel underwent a renovation that included all 314 rooms and two suites. Therefore, the hotel is not new but — more importantly — well-maintained and affordable.

⇩ I initially booked a standard room at the hotel with moderate expectations. Fortunately, I was pleasantly surprised when they upgraded me to a corner room adorned with two expansive windows, essentially turning each entire wall into a window. While the views from these windows weren't particularly breathtaking, showcasing mainly a road and a neighboring hotel, the hotel's prime location in the heart of Bangkok compensated for any lack of scenic vistas. I had no complaints. The room proved to be spacious enough for a single occupant, boasting a genuinely large and comfortable bed.
Furthermore, the room featured a functional business table paired with a comfortable chair, a well-equipped coffee station with complimentary coffee sets, and a stocked fridge. To enhance relaxation, the room was furnished with both a mini sofa and a small sofa.
⇩ The room included a separate shower room and a generously-sized sink. The bathroom amenities were well-organized, providing everything one might need. While there was no bathtub, which posed no issue for me, the bathroom maintained a clean and hygienic environment. A noteworthy feature of the bathroom was a large, rounded mirror above the sink. This double-sided mirror served both the bathroom and the living room. The wall between the room and the bathroom was transparent, allowing the mirror to be accessible from both spaces. Please take a moment to review the attached video for a visual walkthrough.
I appreciated the abundance of hangers provided in the closet, as some hotels tend to offer a limited number. This hotel exceeded my expectations in that regard. The coffee station was fairly standard but satisfactory. I was pleased to receive two pairs of slippers, a generous gesture considering that some hotels only provide them based on the number of individuals in the reservation.
Overall, my experience at Courtyard by Marriott Bangkok was thoroughly enjoyable. Honestly, I lean towards Courtyard by Marriott Bangkok Sukhumvit 20 when given the choice between the two. The preference stems from the fact that Marriott Bangkok Sukhumvit 20 is a newer establishment compared to Courtyard by Marriott Bangkok. Both hotels, however, are remarkably affordable, well-maintained, and consistently clean.
If I were to point out one downside, it would be the location. While Bangkok's renowned shopping malls are easily accessible, either on foot or by a quick 10-minute walk to BTS Chit Lom from the hotel, there is a notable absence of mini shops or food stands in the immediate vicinity. Although there is a 7-ELEVEN nearby, access requires passing through a gate that closes at 12 AM. Alternatively, reaching another 7-ELEVEN entails a 15-minute walk.
On the positive side, the hotel's location in a quiet and peaceful area shields it from the bustling noise of Bangkok city. This ensures a tranquil environment, promising a heightened level of relaxation during your stay in Bangkok.
